The Largest Natural Seawater (NSW, Sea Water) Aquarium in the World!
Over recent years it has been amazing to see the development of Natural Seawater (Sea Water, NSW) becoming more present among large commercial marine aquariums. Many new aquariums now are being built with the vision of running it completely with Natural Seawater (Sea Water, NSW). The reason behind this decision for many of the developers is that the extra bacteria in the water allows them more control over managing the excess nutrients in the water. For those aquariums that house large marine fish, excess nutrients is their main concern. This is because if they are unable to denitrify their systems effectively then the water will become toxic for the marine fish. Luckily using Natural Seawater (Sea Water, NSW) makes this way easier than using mixed synthetic saltwater.
The image above shows the largest aquarium run solely on Natural Seawater (Sea Water, NSW). This aquarium is a whopping 13,500,000L, with a 55ft long window and glass that is just over 2ft thick! Can you imagine the weight when they fit the system.
The aquarium is housed at The Lost Chambers Aquarium and homes more than 86000 marine fish based over 280 species.
They designed the system so that it could readily and easily pump the Natural Seawater (Sea Water, NSW) directly in from the South China Sea. Can you imagine having Natural Seawater (Sea Water, NSW) on tap for your own home aquarium! Now that would be the life.
